About

What Old World Craftsmanship means to me

In our world of mass manufacturing and instant gratification, craftsmanship has suffered. Things aren’t built to last, and they’re not built with personal care.

To me Old World Craftsmanship is synonymous with Quality and Pride. I have always been in awe of our forefathers and their ability to construct Quality furniture pieces and cabinetry with the most basic of tools that held their names and represented their work for generations.

Here’s what you can you expect from my craftsmanship. I stand behind my work.  I will call you when I say, show up for appointments, and my workmanship will be of the utmost Quality. My design and construction of your piece will be done with care and concern for the fine details.

All corners will be merited with precision, all drawers will be made with dovetail joints, the best quality of material will be used in the construction of your piece, and the finish quality will be done with care and patience. I want generations to come to know that I cared about my craft.

All this Old World Craftsmanship translates into you getting a heirloom piece with a Quality and Care I’m proud to associate my name with.

My Story

I’ve been designing and building furniture and cabinetry, for over 30 years.

I’m the father of three girls (Katie, Rebecca and Caroline) and my love for woodworking started when my eldest daughter was born and I built a shelf unit for her bedroom to hold her beginning collection of dolls.

My skills, tools, and craftsmanship were limited and crude at the time.  Even so, I was proud of the finished result, and from then on I was hooked on woodworking!

I am one of five boys, and my father (John) always encouraged my brothers and I to use our hands and try things on our own, and he was always there to help and aid when necessary.  With this encouragement, I pursued my new fascination with building furniture and cabinetry.

I knew woodworking was going to be a passion for me because up until then – and to my beautiful wife Jackie’s chagrin – I had tried every hobby and would abandon them as soon as I had purchased all of the necessary gadgetry that applied to such hobby. Woodworking turned out to be different.

The love of working with and caring for wood, and using my two hands to create furniture that someone would use and cherish felt deeply meaningful.  So, I began honing my craft and skills, and now – over 30 years and many, many projects later – I’m proud to be able to share this gift of creating dream furniture pieces for others.

Thank you for visiting my site and please let me know how I can create your dream piece.
